Elated that Little John's found its way back to the corner post pandemic under new ownership. I got the chipotle chicken which was my go to back in the day and it tasted pretty damn near how it used to. Inflation brought the price of an 8" sub from $8 to $15 during those 10 years which is unfortunate, but is what it is. It's improved in the sense that it's much cleaner and the staff were super friendly. However, they no longer serve you free chips with the purchase of the sub. Please bring back the free chips and continue to give the people what they want!
I've lived in New York City and this place is the real deal. Amazing NY deli sandwiches and very good prices. For a college town sandwich shop this place is way above par. I got the Wild Turkey sandwich (I substituted cheddar cheese instead of Muenster for mine) which had super fresh thin turkey deli meat and great fresh bread. They make everything made to order and toasted my sandwich perfectly. My friends got the Philly Chicken sandwich and was also happy with her choice. For a tasty, inexpensive, high quality NY deli sandwich, this place is a no brainer five star!
Took my son here after our college visit....he's kinda a sandwich guy. Just the meat and bread no veggies. As a graduate, it was a little nostalgic going back in. And a little weird. Like no changes. Well except that the sandwiches don't come with chips included anymore? ThT was a little sad. Still good sandwiches. They have salads now...pre prepared. I got the Greek salad. It was ok...I would stick with sandwiches. Don't expect super friendly counter / sandwich guys. Just good sandwiches.
Little johns used to be my go-to place all throughout college but they have gradually gotten worse. Don't get me wrong, the food is still yummy, but the prices have gone up and now they don't include chips on the side anymore. I don't get the sandwiches because I don't think they are worth the price but I love the freebird flat bread. They give you a good amount of meat and I like the flavor. Would have been a definite 5 stars a couple years ago though. Flavor: 4.5/5 Value: 3/5 Overall: 3.5/5
Great lunch sandwich and it is definitely New York style with more meat on the sandwich than bread. I opted for the Five Easy Pieces which is a stack of bacon and ham and turkey and Muenster cheese, melted and topped with thousand island dressing and cole slaw on top of grilled pumpernickel. It was an excellent sandwich and very tasty. It's a comfy little place with wood tables and chairs. All that's missing to make it completely New York deli are signed headshots of local celebrities.
